Nippon Prologis REIT announced on 18 May that it has has received five stars for its Prologis Park Amagasaki 2 property under the Development Bank of Japan Inc. (DBJ) Green Building Certification program.
The five star certification is the highest of five rankings under the programme, which seeks to recognise buildings that promote renewable energy, and incorporate sustainable features into its developments.
The program also rates, via a scoring model originally developed by DBJ, real estate properties that lead the way in environmentally conscious design, robust security systems, and ample disaster prevention features.
Another one of the REIT’s properties, Prologis Park Amagasaki 1, received a four-star certification.
“As the leading global provider of logistics facilities, the Prologis Group, Nippon Prologis REIT’s sponsor, is committed to promoting renewable energy and incorporating sustainable features into its buildings”, said a statement released by the REIT on the same day.
“Nippon Prologis REIT will continue to invest in minimising environmental impacts and maximising energy conservation”, the REIT, which has a portfolio of 36 logistics properties, added.
Nippon Prologis REIT is currently listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange at JPY243,500.
