Despite a challenging retail landscape, which has been beset by competition from e-commerce, Hektar REIT has performed relatively well in comparison with its retail REIT peers across the Asia-Pacific region.

The REIT reported a distribution per unit (DPU) of 3.30 sen for its 4Q 2017, an increase of 22.2% over the 2.7 sen achieved in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

Accordingly, Hektat REIT’s revenue for the quarter came in at MYR33.4 million (USD8.4 million), an increase of 7% year-on-year from 2016, while net property income (NPI) rose by 12% year-on-year to MYR20.9 million.
