Singapore-listed healthcare REIT, First REIT, announced on 17 April that a resident at one of its properties has tested positive for COVID-19.

The 89-year-old resident was staying at Pacific Healthcare Nursing Home II (PHNH II) at 21 Senja Road, and was tested positive on 15 April.

The resident has since been in isolation at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

The operator of PHNH II is offering support to affected residents, and assisting with the health ministry in contact tracing.

It has also conducted thorough cleaning and disinfection of the ward and affected areas.

Remaining residents and staff at the property now undergo twice-daily temperature checks, with staff now donning personal protective equipment when attending to residents.

Pacific Healthcare has also suspended all visitors to the home since 2 April 2020.

First REIT owns three nursing properties in Singapore and this is the first COVID-19 case reported at its homes.
