The REIT Association of Singapore (REITAS) has elected Low Chee Wah, CEO of Frasers Property Retail, as its new president.
His appointment was announced following its annual general meeting (AGM) on 27 May, in which REITAS also elected its executive committee (EXCO) members.
Low replaces Jonathan Yap, CEO of Fund Management at CapitaLand Investment.
Among REIT leaders that have been elected into the 2022-2024 EXCO include Tan Tze Wooi, CEO, CapitaLand China Trust Management Ltd, Koh Wee Lih, CEO, Keppel REIT Management Limited, and Simon Garing, CEO, Cromwell EREIT Management Pte Ltd.
The two co-opted members are new entrants Adrian Chui and Matthew Allen, CEO of the newly merged ESR-LOGOS REIT, and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Perpetual (Asia) Ltd respectively.
“The newly appointed Exco believes that inputs from the two co-opted members will add valuable perspectives when crafting new initiatives for the association”, said REITAS.
“The Singapore REIT market has grown from strength to strength, owing to a strong ecosystem with thriving conditions for growth”, said Low in the statement from REITAS.
“Despite strong global headwinds, S-REITs have shown resilience and sustainable returns, further augmenting their foothold in the region. As the world shifts towards an endemic economy, opportunities abound for the continued growth of the Singapore REIT market”, he added.
